Ann began singing in high school with other students and formed a group. Also, she performed in a season of summer stock stage at the Berkshire Playhouse in Stockbridge, Massachusetts and in shows such as The Pajama Game" and West Side Story. Ann's appearance with her band in a fashion event was when Gloria Schiff, editor of Vogue Magazine, discovered Ann. Within a matter of a few days the editor-in-chief Diana Vreeland commissioned Ann to shoot the very first Vogue Cover featuring photographer Richard Avedon. Ann was one of the United States' most well-known models, appearing on the covers of major magazines including Vogue Bazaar, Cosmopolitan and numerous others. After two years Ann was able to enter the world market performing well for a number of companies in Europe and Japan in the role of face of big brands in the cosmetic industry like Max Factor Revlon and Chanel.
